Volunteer for us
Brookwood Cemetery is a vast, 220 acre site. 250,000 people are buried here and we have over 18,000 memorials.
We need help conserving the cemetery’s heritage and natural beauty while also managing its public amenity value.

Thursday volunteers
Our individual volunteers meet mosts Thursdays between 10am and 12 noon to undertake a range of light maintenance activities within the cemetery.
They work together to tidy an assigned plot or tend to graves which have not been visited for some time.
Tasks include sweeping, raking, gathering up leaves and pruning.
A friendly group, volunteers bring and share refreshments, and meet up socially.
Corporate volunteering
We can accomodate large corporate groups from organisations that want to make a difference or give something back to their local community.
Where possible we will try to identify a rewarding task or project that can be completed during your visit.
Colleagues will need to work together to undertake tasks such as trimming and edging graves, maintaining paths and access routes, cutting back invasive species and removing fallen debris.
