Details
The Last Post and Reveille have been performed at the Menin Gate in Ypres, Belgium, almost daily since 1928 in memory of the Allied soldiers who fell in the First World War.
The ceremony was stopped following Nazi occupation so between 1941 and 1944, it was performed at Brookwood Cemetery.
On the very day Ypres was liberated by Polish troops in September 1944, the bugles sounded again at the Menin Gate, however Brookwood's association with the Last Post continued, and still continues today.
On the first Sunday of the month at 3pm, a short service takes place in front of the RAF Memorial in the Military Cemetery.
The public are warmly invited to observe this remembrance event.
