Service: we carry out a search of our burial records using the information provided. We will provide you with any information found, this will include date of burial and any location information or comment that appears.
Record Search [Plus]
Fee: £20.00
Time frame: 10 working days
Service: as with the Record Search, we carry out a search of our burial records using the information provided. We will provide you with any information found, this will include date of burial and any location information or comment that appears. In addition we will carry out additional record checks, this includes where possible receipt books and maps.
Location Search
Fee: £40.00
Time frame: 15 working days
Service: we carry out a series of checks to locate the grave. This includes our own inhouse mapping, and where required area searches. Please be aware that for many pauper and church plots there are no individual grave markers, therefore we might not be able to provide you with a specific location. If we can, we will provide photographs and directions.

We do not hold burial records for the Zoroastrian, Ismaili, Dawoodi Bohra, or Serbian cemeteries, or for the St Edward Brotherhood Orthodox Church.

Brookwood Cemetery is the largest cemetery in the UK, and with 220 acres of land, it can be quite the task to locate graves. We opened in 1854, so the quality of record keeping, survival of monuments, and at times, lack of monuments, can complicate this process.
If you know that your research request links with mass reinterment we may not hold the records for individual burials. Our burial records are held on Deceased Online they allow you to carry out name searches free of charge. They also have other search options for which fees apply.
We will not take the details of or carry out research requests over the telephone. We require Search Request Information (see below Search Request Form) and payment prior to undertaking research.
There is no charge for searches relating to burials that have occurred within the last 10 years. Our fees are administrative, there is no guarantee that we will be able to locate the record or grave.
Once you have sent the Search Request Information, an invoice will be sent to you for payment.
